Behavior

The cancellation movement reduces remaining outstanding exposure while keeping prior facts auditable in the ledger.

Key point The credit ledger retains facts as movements. A correction produces a new explicit movement instead of silently rewriting a historical fact.

Limits and responsibilities

  • Cancellation does not correct erroneous consumption; use a reversal for that.
  • It neither refunds nor settles a payment: it concerns only the credit-exposure ledger.
