Behavior

Release reduces authorized/outstanding exposure according to the exposure model without claiming that a payment occurred.

Key point The credit ledger retains facts as movements. A correction produces a new explicit movement instead of silently rewriting a historical fact.

Limits and responsibilities

  • Release and reversal are not synonyms: release frees unneeded capacity, while reversal corrects already-recorded consumption.
  • The link to the authorization movement is optional and serves transactional traceability.
